ChatGPT or Claude?
These are the two most capable assistants on the market, and the real difference is not raw power but what you use them for. ChatGPT has the most complete ecosystem — voice, images, file analysis, apps on every platform — and is the more versatile pick if you want one tool for everything. Claude writes more naturally, handles long documents without losing the thread, and is the favourite of many developers thanks to Claude Code.
Choose ChatGPT if…
You want a single tool for everything: writing, generating images, talking by voice and analysing files. Also if desktop and mobile apps matter to you.
Choose Claude if…
You write a lot and care about tone, work with long documents, or code every day. Its Pro plan is also slightly cheaper.
ChatGPT
- The most complete ecosystem: voice, images, file analysis

- The free plan has strict usage limits
- It can make up facts (hallucinations)
Claude
- Very natural writing, in Spanish too
- Excellent for coding (Claude Code)
- Handles very long documents
- Stricter usage limits than ChatGPT on the free plan
- No image generation
The differences that actually matter
One does everything, the other does text and code very well
ChatGPT generates images, holds voice conversations, runs code and has polished apps on every platform. Claude does not generate images and has no full voice mode: it has concentrated its effort on writing and coding. If your work fits in text you will not notice the gap; if you need to illustrate or dictate, ChatGPT is the only one of the two that covers it.
They behave differently with long documents
Both accept large files, but Claude holds the thread better when a document runs to dozens of pages: it cites specific passages without mixing them up and still follows an instruction given at the start of the conversation thirty messages later. If your main use is analysing contracts, reports or transcripts, that is the difference you will feel daily.
How they write in Spanish
Both write well, but with different character. Claude produces more natural, less repetitive prose and is less heavy-handed with adjectives. ChatGPT tends towards more predictable structures — lists, closing summaries, transition sentences — which work very well for informational content and stand out more when the text is meant to sound personal.
Frequently asked questions
Which writes better in Spanish, ChatGPT or Claude?
For text a person will read that has to sound natural, Claude usually comes out ahead: fewer filler phrases, less template structure. For informational content with clear structure — guides, summaries, documentation — ChatGPT performs the same or better. The test that settles it in five minutes is asking each for a long paragraph on your topic and reading them out loud.
Is it worth paying for both?
For almost nobody. That is roughly €40 a month for two tools that overlap on 80 % of what they do, and using one well pays off more than alternating between them. It only makes sense if your work depends on something only one covers: image generation on one side, or heavy coding volume on the other.
