What is Moises?
Moises is the go-to app for musicians: upload any song and its AI splits it into separate tracks (vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano), detects chords and tempo, and lets you change speed or pitch without losing quality. It is the modern replacement for the play-along: ideal for practising, karaoke or preparing covers.
Pros
- Very clean track separation, among the best available
- Detects chords and tempo automatically
- Changes speed and pitch without degrading the audio
- Very cheap: the Premium plan costs $3.99/month
Cons
- The free plan stops at 5 separations a month
- HiFi quality and dialogue separation require the Pro plan
- It does not generate music: it only works on existing tracks
What Moises is like in practice
Where it stands out
It separates a song into vocals, drums, bass and instruments with a cleanliness that a few years ago required the original studio material. Add key and tempo change, chord detection and a metronome, and for anyone who plays or sings it becomes a rehearsal room with any song in existence.
Where it falls short
With dense mixes or instruments occupying the same frequency range, audible artefacts appear in the separated stems, fine for practising and not for producing. And there is a legal limit worth being clear about: separating a song does not create a new work, so publishing the result still needs a licence.
How its pricing works
The free plan allows separating a number of songs per month at reduced quality, enough to judge whether the result works for you. Paid tiers remove the cap and raise separation quality. For a musician rehearsing weekly, it is among the cheapest subscriptions here relative to what it delivers.
Is Moises right for you?
Yes, if…
You are a musician and want to practise: it separates the vocals or the instrument you play from any song, detects chords and tempo, and changes speed or pitch without ruining the audio. For $3.99/month.
No, if…
You want to create music from scratch: Moises only works on existing tracks. For composing with AI, look at Suno, Udio or Soundraw.

What is splitting the tracks good for?

Which instruments does it separate?
Vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano and others depending on the plan. Pro adds separation of dialogue, music and effects.
