Video AI tools

AI video creation and editing.

18 tools reviewed

Two fairly different things live in this category. On one side are the generators, which create video from a description or a still image and produce short clips a few seconds long. On the other are assisted editors, which work on footage you already shot: cutting silences, adding subtitles, dubbing into another language or turning a long video into vertical clips. For social media and corporate training, the second family gives usable results far sooner than the first.

How to choose a video AI tool

How many seconds it generates at once

Most generators produce clips of five to ten seconds. That means a one-minute video is several generations strung together, with the editing work and continuity problems that implies. If you expected to write a script and receive a finished video, adjust your expectations before paying.

How you are charged: credits or subscription

Video is the most expensive thing generative AI does, and nearly every tool charges in credits. The problem is not the price per credit but that failed generations consume them too: between finding the take you want and discarding the ones that miss, the real cost per usable clip can be five times the headline rate.

Whether the subtitles understand your accent

Automatic editors transcribe in order to caption and cut. Accuracy in Spanish is good on average but uneven with regional accents, technical vocabulary and proper nouns. Upload a minute of your own voice before signing up for anything: it is the test that best predicts whether the tool will work for you.

Watermark and output format

In video the free-plan watermark is usually fixed and clearly visible, and many tools also cap resolution at 720p. Check whether it exports vertical too: if you are publishing to social media, an editor that only delivers landscape forces you to reframe everything by hand.

Before you pay, keep this in mind

If you are going to use avatars or clone a voice, consent is not a bureaucratic detail: in Spain and the EU a person's likeness and voice are personal data, and using someone else's without express permission exposes you to a claim. With your own face and voice there is no issue. And in video generation, count on the first result rarely being the one you keep: budget credits for discards.

Frequently asked questions

Can you make a whole video with AI alone?

A short social clip, yes, by stringing generations together and adding voice and music. A long piece with continuous narrative, not yet without human editing: generators do not hold coherence well between clips, and the character or set shifts subtly from shot to shot.

How much does it cost to generate AI video?

Entry plans run roughly €10-30 a month and cover a few minutes of generated video. Assisted editors, which work on footage you shot, come out considerably cheaper per usable minute because you are not paying for discards. Each tool page details the pricing model.

Do generated videos carry a watermark?

On free plans, almost always. On paid plans, almost never, though some tools also embed an invisible marker identifying the content as AI-generated, which you cannot see but stays in the file. You can filter by free plan in the listing above.
