Notion AI is the artificial intelligence layer of the popular Notion workspace. It includes the Notion Agent (which carries out tasks in your workspace), AI search across all your connected apps, automatic meeting notes and assisted writing. Since 2025-2026 the full AI suite is included in the Business plan, with no separate add-on.

Where it stands out
Its advantage is not the model but where it lives: inside your notes, databases and documentation, so it answers about what your team has already written without you uploading anything. Searching a messy workspace and getting an answer with its source is what it genuinely solves.
Where it falls short
As a general assistant it trails the dedicated ones: for writing, coding or analysing anything outside Notion, any specialised tool does it better. And its usefulness depends entirely on how tidy your workspace is: if documentation is scattered and out of date, that is what it will answer with.
How its pricing works
It is billed as a per-user add-on on top of your Notion subscription, and that is the calculation worth doing: in a ten-person team it multiplies by ten even if only three use it. Check whether your plan already includes it before buying it separately.
