What is Superhuman?
Superhuman is an email client built around speed: everything is driven from the keyboard and its AI drafts replies in your style, sorts messages and summarises long threads. In July 2025 it was acquired by Grammarly, which in October adopted the Superhuman name for the whole company and grouped email, Grammarly and Coda under that brand.
Pros
- Genuinely fast: the whole email flow driven by keyboard shortcuts
- Drafts replies that mimic your writing style
- Integrations with HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive
- The Business plan also includes Grammarly and Coda
Cons
- Expensive for an email client (from $25/user/month)
- No free plan that includes the email client
- Only works with Gmail and Outlook
What Superhuman is like in practice
Where it stands out
It is built around speed: everything is done from the keyboard, the interface responds instantly and the AI drafts replies in your writing style. For anyone receiving a hundred emails a day and treating them as work rather than distraction, the difference against a normal mail client is minutes per hour.
Where it falls short
It is expensive for an email client, and its advantage only exists if email is a core part of your job: for twenty emails a day it does not add up at all. It also demands learning shortcuts, and anyone who does not invest that first week never sees the benefit justifying the price.
How its pricing works
It sits well above any alternative and is billed per user. The calculation is simple: what an hour of your time is worth and how many it saves you per month. If the answer is not obvious, the answer is no. Following its acquisition of Grammarly, it is worth reviewing what your plan includes.
Is Superhuman right for you?
Yes, if…
You live in your inbox and every minute counts: everything is keyboard-driven and the AI drafts replies imitating your style. The Business plan also includes Grammarly and Coda.
No, if…
You do not use Gmail or Outlook, because it only works with those two. And $25/user/month is a lot for an email client unless you genuinely live in your inbox.
